Technology Requirements
What technology do you need? Our class materials are very easy to use. You will need the following technologies to participate
in Fashion Design Online.
Required:
A computer with Windows 98 (2nd ed), ME, XP, or 2000. Virtual PC for the Mac is also supported. Windows 95 is not supported.
A monitor that can display a minimum resolution of 800 x 600 dpi. 1024 x 768 is recommended.
A sound card and speakers for listening to the tutorial movie narrations.
A web browser such as Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher, Netscape, or Firefox.
Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or higher - a free program that can be obtained from
Adobe Systems Acrobat Reader
is required to open, view, and print the PDF formatted class materials.
A Java plug-in installed and enabled on your computer is needed to participate in the live training sessions. Most computers
come with the Java plugin pre-installed. To determine if Java is installed or to install Java, visit the
Java website.
A connection to the internet. Broadband connections are not required but dial-up
connections will increase the time it takes to download files and may prevent you from participating in the live training sessions.
The ability to call a long distance number
to participate in the live training sessions. Long distance
phone charges will apply. Classes will be held on nights and weekends for those who have free nights and
weekend minutes on the cell phones.
A Go To Meeting plug in. This plug in will be provided
upon class registration.
Recommended
A telephone with a hands free headset for the live training sessions.
An inexpensive color printer to print the PDF files. All training materials have been created in full color. Training materials
can also be taken to Kinkos and printed in color.
